Unfortunately men have rights too, and police can't do much unless you have evidence they broke the law.

If they ignore evidence, that's obviously a different matter.

If a man is stalking, breaking restraining orders, or committing online harassment, he's stepping over the line of legal behavior.

But, if your attitude is, oh just ignore him, and he has rights, well, then you get domestic violence, stalking, and domestic homicide.

Police forces in most countries are male dominated so I'm pretty sure that if you picked any police forces in the world ad scratched a bit, you would find situations where women victims were not treated adequately.

What is more troubling is the number of cases that appears to have skyrocketed. Why is it that this behaviour seems to be more in more common with men in Japan and indeed around the world.

There were numerous allegations of mistreatment and harassment of females against the HK police during the protests and since there were no one to investigate those besides the police...well.

Along with the rise of right wing politics, there also seems to be a rise of toxic masculinity...

Yes of course. If evidence is there, it shouldn't be ignored.

However, maybe if they don't have evidence to take action, then it might do more harm than good to talk to the accused.

Reminds me of the Gabby Petito documentary I just watched on Netflix.
