    UK general election

    Brits abroad - how do you intend to vote?

    Since I'm not registered as an overseas elector, and it's too late to do so for this election (unless you happen to be in the constituency where you were last registered in the UK before 12 April, and even then I'm not sure you have time to get a postal vote, so you'd need to be there again on 6 May), then I shan't be.

    Frankly since I don't pay any taxes there I don't see why I should have a vote anyway.

    I have paid a substantial amount of tax over the years so in that respect I feel entitled to vote, but given that I have no intention of returning (unless something happens beyond my control – which, of course, cannot be discounted), I’m leaning towards not voting too …

    yes, thought I'd keep my options open, and it was really no bother registering

    Fair enough. I never got round to it, and since by the time of the next general election I'll have been out of the UK for more than 15 years I won't be eligible then anyway (that's even if I haven't naturalised here).

    how come the poll here leans towards the tories? and the BNP is missing? how come? they r real cool!

    i registered but forgot to call them up to remove my name when i left in mid feb. perhaps i sld ask my ex flatemates to vote for me...

    would have voted for lib dem if i was in the UK! don't trust the tories and certainly not a fan of labour
