I saw a rather nice village house last weekend in Clearwater Bay. Currently occupied by an expat family and the owner is asking for $10K. The interior is newly renovated, 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom look clean with rooftop. Let me know if you are interested. I love that place but it's out of my budget. My search continues... You can also check with the agent that Tangy mentioned.

Some houses near Silverstrand Mart have a caretaker. Definitely better in terms of security.

Not too sure about the travelling though.....

Public transport is great in HK one of it's jewels. it does not take 50 mins by car only around 35 mins. Ta Ku ling is also somewhere to consider. We are close to Sai Kung (10 mins away) and 10 mins away from the Sai Kung Transport Hub, Choi Hung.

The best way to get to Sai Kung from Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon etc. Is to take the MTR to Choi Hung and then the Sai Kung minibus into Sai Kung. if you live in mang kung uk u would take the mtr to hanghau and then CLearwaterbay minibus.

    Property websites for Sai Kung.

Can you please recommend any English speaking websites that feature houses to rent in Sai Kung? As I am moving out there this summer and I am finding it difficult to find any information. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank You.

I'm told there's now a red minibus from Wanchai (opposite fire station on Hennessy Rd) to Sai Kung.

Can anyone give some updates to me about the rent now in Silverstrand and Clearwater Bay? As this thread been posted for 2 yrs..We are a couple, intend to have a 3 bed flat with garden/ rooftop. Aimed no more than $15K. Is the commuting issue had ease? Been told CWB has lots of buses/mini buses connecting to TKO. I haven't got my driving license yet!! WHat about going to the airport? is it very far? I am Honkie but always lived on the Island, now we would like to have a feel of the greenary Sai Kung. What you reckon? Thanks.

Your budget should still be fine for CWB/SK - communiting by public transit from CWB is definitely easier than SK...many more buses to Hang Hau MTR and, from there, it's a breeze.

To the airport is more difficult. If you aren't carrying much - would probably be best to go via MTR/Airport Express but you are looking at at least an hour from Hang Hau MTR. But - there are also a couple of very good car/limousine services from SK area to and from the airport. They'll pick you up at both ends and take you door to door. It's very convenient. Price varies from $250 - $350 per ride (depending on car and where you live).

    Cheers!
