    swedish

    i've decided to learn swedish on a whim. all i've done so far is switch my mac, gmail and phone to swedish; download the fsi online pdf and mp3s (i'm still at the pronunciation chapter); and watch the seventh seal with english subtitles. if anyone who speaks swedish doesn't mind conversing with an absolute beginner, i'd love to meet up. in return, i can introduce you to vegetarian food in hong kong.

    Just a hint: subtitles should be in the language that you want to learn.

    The original Swedish production of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' is quite good. So are the many 'Wallander' TV episodes, if you like crime that is.

    Not sure that REALLY helps, but beside the obvious 4 letter word there is another place in HK for Swedish food, without cheapish furniture as an added bonus:

    I strongly suggest reading too. Reading is way less stress. Start here:

    Beer = Öl
    Lite beer = Lättöl - which is nice if you like beer. You can drink a lot and don't get drunk.

    Why don't you come down to FINDS in TST on this Friday (7th)? There's a Nordic afterwork starting at 7
