Looking for Native Mandarin speakers to talk to (in x for my English)

Hi,

First and foremost, I speak fluent Cantonese, but my Mandarin Chinese 4 sounds is always off. I can understand about 80% Mandarin but my speaking is terrible so I am looking for a NATIVE MANDARIN SPEAKING PERSON to language exchange with.

If you speak both Cantonese and Mandarin that would be perfect as then u can use Cantonese to explain what I don't know in Mandarin.


I am retired so I am available just about anytime during the day before 7pm except Saturdays when I am doing 8 hr plus hiking stretches in the mountains. If you go hiking, then we can language exchange in the mountains and it would be a perfect combination lol I will even buy you a beer afterwards.



I have several things I can offer in return:

Prior to retiring, I was a Finance Manager of a top 10 multinational company and Chartered Accountant of over 20 years in Australia. Can teach you how to do kinky stuff like cashflow statement from t accounts and other accounting subjects and pass all your undergrad degree business subjects based on an Australian Syllabus. I have an MBA and I used to teach MBA students in Australia too.

I can speak English with no accent or maybe a slight Australian accent if that is what you are looking for.

If you are a "practical person" then we don't need to even meet if that suits you and we can both save time as we can use Wechat to language exchange as I am not interested in writing or typing chinese so you can type in chinese and I can respond in English or I can leave spoken Cantonese or Mandarin messages on wechat.

I am a native mandarin speaker, and I can speak cantonese quite well which is my working language. Now i am looking for someone to help my spoken English although my writing English is not too bad.

I would only be free after 8pm during weekdays as i am 25 plus years old and working in a local law firm as trainee solicitor, while on weekends i am available most of the time. Interestingly, i am also a big hiking lover, and i have conquered most of the mountains in HK, even those most difficult ones, like 杯靈雙度、環湖出鬼手、蚺蛇尖、狗 嶺. That would be perfect if we can exchange our language while hiking.

I have sent u wechat request. happy to talk on wechat Mandarin for English using Cantonese as a conduit. I am usually free every Sunday for hiking but I am almost twice your age so you will have to walk slowly lol
