    A cynic might think that these licences will be given to government friendly companies (a subsidiary of NWD will probably get one) who will then take on illegal limo services including Uber with the help of Asia's finest.

    worst case is just a way to give more of our money to property developers

    Makes one wonder how much of this is a response to Uber and co. How is Uber faring nowadays anyway?

    Surely the Uber legalisation is a done deal - the government desperately needs the propaganda victory from having a major global corporate move their HQ here in this climate.
