    To be fair, he did say democratically elected. Looking at worldwide developments, one might what was required was civilian oversight/control over an apolitical military, itself keeping political parties in check (to ensure democratic transition/no tyranny).

    It was interesting reading the different perspectives towards guns and gun control in the thread though.

    I often thought the militia against government argument for guns in US was a little stupid too and for just this reason... What are a bunch of yokels with pickups going to do against reaper drones and Sherman tanks?
