    Same here. Still going strong

I am in exactly same boat. I have recently shifted here with not sure how long I will be here beyond 2017. Thanks!

dont buy a new one then, just get a second hand any tv that 40" for a good price.

Samsung 40" for $2000. just an example, use google translate if they write description in Chinese, you can ask them questions etc.

LeEccho? Leco? Something like that. Really bad contrast, weird pixel artifacts appearing around moving images.
Need to factor in that some default settings for the TVs do not give the best picture. i.e. contrast for one TV maybe different from another TV by default but this can be tweaked.

Thanks. I indeed used Carousell while searching for used one. And I actually asked same seller (quoted in example) few questions about TV like warranty and age. Right now I am not very much comfortable buying TV without warranty though it has been used for couple of years.

On other hand, on price.com.hk, I found listing for Hisense 40" TV at 1990 from a seller who is Hisense authorised dealer.

We purchase a TCL brand TV on arriving in HK 10 years ago. Much cheaper than the rest and still going strong.
