I'm grateful it's not a thing in my home, although there was one time I had to be a nurse for about a month after an operation, and that was no fun at all (there's a very good reason why I have never had a desire to work in the medical field -- I'm still baffled how anyone finds it appealing!). I expected some kind of major thank you, like a special cake or dinner or card.... but nothing. Not a single thing. Not even a small thank you, and even after expressing my disappointment, still nothing...
(He does read this forum... unfortunately unlike to come across this thread...).
So if you're going to suffer from man flu, the least you can do is be thankful with a little gift or surprise after the ordeal.
