Perhaps his most memorable achievement will be of big populist promises and staying popular whilst changing very little.

Incredible that a fascist dictator achieved so little. Of course that is not how it is viewed in the Philippines.

Free tertiary education is pretty big.

Peace in Mindanao and the autonomous Muslim area ending centuries of fighting is massive

Cutting crime by 64% is significant to oeople

    Large scale infrastructure build.

Free contraception leading with falling population growth.

The near destruction of the New Peoples Army which has fought a 53 year war costing over 60,000 lives

Removal of protectionist economic policies installed by the Liberal Party to protect the oligarchy.

Yesterday was making child marriage illegal.

    The list goes on.

Maybe its true where you live but i hadn't seen any improvement on some aspects in north mindanao where i have my house and nearby provinces:

Crime and robbery still at very high level and it has even increased during these pandemic.
No new large scale infrastructures......... and the small too....... just for example the enlargement of the existing bridge 1 kilometer from my house is still not completed after.... 5 years...and i don't talk about a huge bridge just 200 meters long bridge, same thing happened for the enlargement of the coastal road.. still on going for the same 5 years.
The New People Army is still very present in the mountains around.... didn't saw their number decreased... still very influent in the different barangays

People who were poor are still poor...even more poor due to the pandemic and now also more with the typhoon/flooding but the local politics still have enjoy a very nice life and have all the money they want to do their campaigns for these coming elections.

The last paragraph I agree with. The rest must depend where you live then.

Where I live two new bridges, large new airport terminal, new road, new national sports venue, Clark New City, Clark Global City, new Manila-Clark railway line is well under way, etc Nationally there is loads of data on infrastructure build, must be missing your area.

The NPA which used to control our town has been eradicated (in a non violent way). As they have in the surrounding hills. Nationally there have been 20,000 surrendered. Not sure why that has not impacted your area.

The crime statistics are there. Noticeable reduction here, but then before I could not go out on my own and the police could not enter the town without permission.

Seems your area has a problem with its local politicians.

    Do the polls lie?
