    Monty Python had it right:

    Every sperm is sacred
    Every sperm is great
    If a sperm is wasted,
    God gets quite irate

    Let the heathen spill theirs
    On the dusty ground
God shall make them pay for
Each sperm that can't be found

He said this was because contraceptive use gives the young non-married, non-committed people the false sense of security that they could engage in intimacy without getting pregnant.
Not surprisingly, this is the same reason conservative Christians in the US give for not teaching sex ed/birth control in the US, with the result that US has a pretty high rate of teen pregnancy as well...

    Yes.

The priest also missed the fact that teenage pregnancies have fallen since the government started promoting contraceptive use.

I also dislike the term "teenage pregnancy" - there is a big difference between a 13 year old and a 19 year old getting pregnant.

And condoms cause HIV as well:

Finally, a Catholic priest in Kenya told his flock that condoms cause HIV-AIDS. His reasoning (not sanctioned by the Vatican) was that, by encouraging promiscuous sex, condoms inevitably lead people to let down their latex guard and have unprotected intercourse, boosting infection rates.
Yes, taking advice on sex and reproduction from celibate, childless, men, what could possibly go wrong?
