Exclamation CCP Leaks: 403 pages of internal documents detail the origins and growth of the indoctrination program in Xinjiang

NYT: ‘Absolutely No Mercy’: Leaked Files Expose How China Organized Mass Detentions of Muslims

More than 400 pages of internal Chinese documents provide an unprecedented inside look at the crackdown on ethnic minorities in the Xinjiang region.

The party has rejected international criticism of the camps and described them as job-training centers that use mild methods to fight Islamic extremism. But the documents confirm the coercive nature of the crackdown in the words and orders of the very officials who conceived and orchestrated it.

Even as the government presented its efforts in Xinjiang to the public as benevolent and unexceptional, it discussed and organized a ruthless and extraordinary campaign in these internal communications. Senior party leaders are recorded ordering drastic and urgent action against extremist violence, including the mass detentions, and discussing the consequences with cool detachment.

The leaked papers offer a striking picture of how the hidden machinery of the Chinese state carried out the country’s most far-reaching internment campaign since the Mao era.

Mr. Xi called for an all-out “struggle against terrorism, infiltration and separatism” using the “organs of dictatorship,” and showing “absolutely no mercy.”

The papers were brought to light by a member of the Chinese political establishment who requested anonymity and expressed hope that their disclosure would prevent party leaders, including Mr. Xi, from escaping culpability for the mass detentions.

The CCP has conditioned those of us who follow their acts to be cynical, but I would personally consider the biggest leak of confidential and hugely embarrassing/damaging strictly confidential information in decades to be actually news.

but just confirms in all its brutality what the Chinese regime has done
Indeed. It will be entertaining to watch the CCP and its army of lackeys, sycophants and trolls to try and use every trick in the book make this confirmation unhappen.

Domestic subjects may need to be subjected to a new approach while all foreign media will need extra labelling as unreliable fake news and rumour mongers.

How will CCP's islamic partners and vassals handle this confirmation (on behalf of their populations)? How about countries which are supposed to hold human dignity as inviolable? The multinationals... never mind.

Here in Hong Kong we might find that some of the troll resources attacking pro-democracy protests will be diverted to defending emperor Jingus Pingus' honour instead.

Interesting times for the Chinese Communist Party under one-Xi-Dada-for-life...

The content is quite entertaining, especially when they talk about a virus and compare it to SARS

The sad thing about it is that the policy seems to have broad support among the majority of the population.

This I learnt from my Chinese work colleagues who kept telling me that Uyghers were genetically predisposed to theft and crime.

Lol finally some different news here, I'll bite.

None of this is exactly new. If anything it makes Beijing look better against all the claims of genocide happening. The content is quite interesting since there are few chances to see what Xi really thinks and the article is surprising balanced. Read through most of it both in English and Chinese, took awhile with my skills but the translation is reasonable if a bit rigid.

Anyway it is not like China has denied that these places exist. It is also pointless to condemn without providing a better solution. Not every country has the same luxury as the good ol' USA to sit across two oceans and drop bombs from afar. Look at whats going on in France... Also it is a huge stretch to think that Islamic countries will care about this leak. Heck even Al Jazeera hasn't picked up the story yet. The leak made it as clear as you can be that it isn't about Islam as a whole and nearly all the countries in the Islamic world has some sort of problem with local extremism.

If someone senior enough to access these documents has leaked it, wouldn't that suggest that there is a rather disgruntled faction in the elite? Interesting times...

"France on Wednesday called on China to end "mass arbitrary detentions" in Xinjiang, where around one million ethnic Uighurs and other Muslim minorities are being held in camps Beijing that calls training schools.

"We call on China to put an end to mass arbitrary detentions and invite the office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to visit Xinjiang as soon as possible to report on the situation," a foreign ministry spokesperson said. "(AFP)
