Hong Kong banning Mainland customers would be the equivalent of saying people do not like money.

There is absolutely no way Hong Kong would even be standing where it is today without Mainlanders spending their money, no idea where it's from though, in Hong Kong.

    RMDNC and traineeinvestor like this.

No, that's not what it says. Not by a long shot.

’Someone contacted us using simplified Chinese, couldn’t communicate in English, and used fake details in order to request to work together. We rejected the request, and investigated the incident afterwards. We found out that the person was highly suspicious and had close links with pro-government parties. For safety reasons, from today onwards if we see someone typing in simplified chinese we will assume they are a wumao and immediately block.’

so from this you got your alternative facts ‘myriad HK businesses banning mainlanders for using simplified chinese and speaking mandarin’. Ok mate

Your translation is terrible. And you have twisted its meaning to suit your own purposes.

where is that statistic coming from? I'd be very surprised.
you mean 70% of tourists? maybe then yes

Hong Kong’s top ten visitor source markets in 2018 in the order of arrival number were the Mainland, Taiwan, Korea, the United States, Japan, Macao, the Philippines, Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom. Altogether they accounted for over 93% of the total visitor arrivals.

Also, I work with inbound tourists and we (Hong Kong) has 77% of total tourists coming into Hong Kong from the Mainland. (from our research)
