All can be played with two players but are better with more. Look at YouTube reviews to get an idea of the games.
I'd add "power grid" to that list also - great fun!
Update on the board / card games we have tried so far:
Pandemic - we got the base game plus 2 expacs, with 2 people the expacs seem necessary. 8/10
Ticket to Ride - fantastic game, loving it and now have the expac to vary it. 10/10
Carcassonne - just getting into it, enjoying it so far. Needed to watch a couple of videos to get the details. 8/10 but probably will get better as we play more
Exploding Kittens - fun for when you don't want to think too much and quick game, more luck based which is good for easily-bruised egos.9/10
Everdell - beautiful artwork, reasonably easy to learn, lots of strategies to make it interesting 9/10
Can anyone recommend a wargame suitable for an 8-10 year old? Memoir 44 looks like a possible option, though ideally the game would be based on ancient rather than modern battles.
Just tried Ticket to Ride thanks to this thread. It's very good.
