    Helper Long Service Payment

    Hello,

We pay our helper well above the basic salary (as per the law). She has been with us for more than 6 years. My question is when we pay her the long service payment, should it be based on the min. salary or the salary we pay (which is well above min.)
    Please advise.
If i calculate there is a huge difference in the total amount payable (long service) hence my question.
No judgments please! I just want to know what others do and plan accordingly.

    Thanks

based on whatever the salary stated in her contract. Do you let her sign her salary receipts with the actual amount?

    The payment is

[(Last month wages x 2/3) x reckonable years of service]

Essentially, it is less than 1 month per year of service, based on the last drawn salary.

I put a side a bit of money each month and slowly increase it based on the number of years the domestic helper is in service, so there is no shock factor.
