So which sim card would be the cheapest for moving back to Canada? Want to retain my wife's and my HK number for SMS purposes.

Lucky sim HK$138 for 3 years, works out to HK$3.83/month. This will allow you to receive SMS in Canada.

Or if you want full roaming in Canada, there is a 6 year option for $328. Works out to HK$4.55/month. But you dont get much data with that, only 5GB spread over 6 years

To port current number to lucky SIM, have to visit one of their locations in HK, cannot do it online unless you want a brand new number.

I ended up joining Birdie on their HKD50/ month plan. Receiving SMS overseas no problem.
