CSL LTE slow. Why?

    CSL LTE slow. Why?

I can only get 10mb down, 5mb up on CSL with any LTE router.

The thing is, an iPhone 12 gets 20mb down, 1mb up. (why is upload slower??)

I upgraded to this modem and the connection is still spotty (EP06-E, left column):

It seems to be connecting to band 3 and not band 7.

Can I really blame network contention issues? Surely there has to be a way to tell if that's the issue?

I guess I'll have to go to a CSL shop and queue up but somehow I doubt they'll know anything about which band might be quicker.

CSL is like the cheapest possible provider.
They run slow and is to be expected.

This doesn't explain why one device is faster than another.

I thought it might suck but the only way to find out was to try it.

What else can I do? I can try another provider but once again it's a gamble because I can't get them to let us test it until after we sign!

    Meanwhile....
There's a public CSL wifi spot but to reach it we'd need a 1 meter high antenna.

This is the mid levels near central. There's broadband in the same junction box as our very slow ADSL line but we're because we're a commercial address and they're residential I can't get them to connect us...

Eh? I was under the impression it is a premium tier brand.

Are you on a plan that allows this kind of usage or is it a plan intended for usage on handsets?

You can call PCCW on the 10088 hotline and get the 100M business fibre for around the same price as the residential 8M ADSL. I'll also message you a couple of agents' contacts.

Invite some friends to your place for a drink, preferable ones using main mobile providers:-

    CSL
    Smartone
    Three
    China Mobile

Run some SpeedTests on their mobiles and also using your SimRouter. See which one provides the best signal.
