I've already explained in detail why the existence of a commonality does not necessitate two things being the same. I even gave an analogy in case you had difficulty understanding. Here we are, one more time:

One is a shooting with a real gun by organised crime
One is possession of replica guns by some students

Two very different narratives that were blended into one, either because of lazy editors or some kind of political will. There's not a serious newspaper anywhere that would consider them the same story.

if you don't see this then there's nothing I can do to change your way of thinking.

That would be fine, except for one important thing: neither are illegal gun possession cases.

One is wounding, possibly attempted murder and possession of illegal weapons. No gun has been found which would make your illegal gun possession case a tough one to prove.

The other is possession of a legal replica firearm that I could go out and buy right now - the investigation/court will decide if the firearm was made illegal or not through modification

By the way, here's how easy it is to report the case properly
