I didn't think he was boasting but sharing his info to help others gauge how their package compares. I thought that was the point of this thread???? Anyway, it isn't like he is on here claiming his salary is $150K a
month and asking if it's enough to pay bills.

I'd like to thank EVERYONE who shared their info. It really helped me decide how much to offer someone I hired and I hope is helpful to others trying to judge how reasonable what they are being offered is.

I thought that was the purpose of the thread!?

Do you for example go in and comment in threads about "how many countries have you visited?" complaining to those who have been in more than 40 countries, how keen they are on sharing all the places they visited?

I don't think you are understanding the point... No one thinks you were boasting or anything like that.
It is just curious that you are will to share numbers on housing allowance and pension but not salary.

Damn I'm in the wrong industry! Clearly!

My salary is a pittance compared with that, and no benefits apart from 5% salary employer contribution to my pension and private healthcare... and I'm 26 (been working in industry for 5 years too)!

I should have gone into banking and sold my soul for a dull job! lol

Why do you equal banking and dull?

Some banking jobs are actually very interesting.

Usually the dull one (in banking) don't really pay.

    Housing: 50K
    Salary: 40K
    Pension: 10K
Free health care (private), air tickets to europe and all moving items covered.

that's a roughly +100K/month - at 28 y old, it's not the best package I have ever seen but it certainly isn't a very cheap package.
That's really not a lot. My salary will be 100K a month next year in Hong Kong (along with the 40k to 60k COLA). I am only 24.
