When will the T1 be hoisted? I see its broken through the 800km line
Does anybody have an estimate as to how high the ocean storm surge might be?
this site: http://www.accuweather.com/en/hurricane/west-pacific says Taiwan was expecting a 10-18ft surge, should that be about the same for us or should we expect higher as the rabbit pushes on through the straits?
anybody know what HK's surge defenses are designed to withstand?

If I'm reading that right they'll update at 12:30 based on the 11:00 position which should be within 800km. Radius of 280km moving at 18km/hr.
This site is predicting Shek O will be the point of landfall.

If that turns out to be the case, then Shek O's "Big Wave Bay" will really live up to it's name. Of course, a big chunk of the beach may be washed away from a direct hit.
I do worry about the surfers who go there whenever a typhoon approaches. If there is a direct hit, the waves might be more than most surfers can handle. Which means some of them might be drag out to the sea to their deaths or necessitating a rescue from the marine police...
