A friend was due to fly back to HK from Melbourne on Sun eve and her flight has been cancelled - she was told not to expect to fly until Tues.
Yes. The housewives are stripping the local supermarket of foodstuff as though the next armageddon is arriving. Noodles, bread... anything edible is being taken as they hunker down for a long seige. Next, we will be issuing ration cards.
You would think that people can survive 1/2 day without food or water!
My experience is that it's raining so bloody hard that visibility is reduced to <2 metres.
Oh, and for the price-sensitive demographic, it's probably too late, but I'd suggest buying up stacks of fresh veggies asap, as Usagi looks set to bulldoze every field of them that's scheduled for the HK market in the next month - 6 weeks. Prices skyrocket!
I was wondering why the queue was so long at Wellcome. But to be honest, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Who knows how long the storm will linger and what kind of mess will be left in the aftermath.
For 99% of people (at least) life will be perfectly normal by Tuesday first thing. How much food can you eat and toilet rolls can you use in 48 hours? I'll be very surprised if my local Wellcome is closed for more than 4 hours when it would normally be open.
