Seriously? You want them to be reduced to begging? That statement is worse than nothing at all.

Deadline for bus hostage sanctions against Manila stays, despite typhoon

Chief secretary says possible sanctions against Manila will not be delayed, even though nation is struggling to cope with aftermath of Haiyan

We can see where our useless piece of sh*t government's priorities are.

Fcuking waste of space, the lot of them.

Howard Winn sums it up nicely in the SCMP regarding the hostage deadline:-

"The Philippines should just ignore this deadline and wait for the international opprobrium that will be dumped on Hong Kong should it go ahead with sanctions.

It is shameful and deeply embarrassing."

Unfortunately I have to agree with a previous comment by DeletedUser:-

"Beijing knew exactly how this would be perceived. They went ahead and did it anyway. "

clearly demonstrating that they really don't give a shite what anyone thinks of them.

This is what happens when someone comes in at the end of the thread.

China and The Philippines do not have normal relations right now.

China hasn't asked The Philippines to beg...how do you get 'beg' from that?

It's really amazing to me how people can't comprehend this. Of course, with it being China, we don't have to use reason do we? If they're not refusing to help typhoon victims they're shitting on our trains right?

Wow, just read an article claiming that Hong Kong is refusing to back down (or delay) its threat of sanctions against the Philipines for the bus massacre a couple years ago).

Good job Hong Kong!!! That's the mature thing to do, slap economic sanctions onto a country that got smoked by the one of the largest typhoons in history.... over something as trivial as a botched rescue attempt.

Pretty sad, especially considering how vital of a role the Filipinos play in Hong Kong's economy.

"In face of disaster, let Hong Kong's kindness prevail"

Will be interesting to see how much "kindness" our top tycoons will be dishing out.

Li Ka-shing, net worth around $30 billion
Lee Shau Kee, around $20 billion
    Kwoks, $19 billion

anyone heard anything about them yet?

It should, but I think they are pre-occupied with other matters and in reality, even before the storm I don't think they really cared (and rightly so).

A concise and well thought out statement with which I totally agree!
