Yes, the Germans are hardly chokers when it comes to penalties that's for sure, whereas all English footballer's legs turn into jelly and they smash the ball out the stadium in a panic.

I'm going for the Argies. Slow starters usually win this tournament.

England to get out the group would be great. At least they're not awful to watch so far.

Poor Germany, they are terrible at pens.

In all seriousness though, if there is a penalty shootout, england need to make sure they have Baines and Lambert on the pitch. They both almost never miss. *touch wood*

Better try and get out of the group first

Ok not exactly chokers but since the Klinsmann and especially the Löw area, they are playing consistently a nice ball but unsuccessful eventually. Last World Cup title 1990 :-( and last Euro title 1996. That's a long time.

I wish you could get 27/28 odds on England NOT winning the WC.

Actually curling was invented in Scotland but nowadays it is more established in Canada. Besides, Canada has won the most curling championships, so we need to give another country a chance to win, otherwise it gets too boring.

That being said, the popularity of curling pales in comparison to the popularity of hockey. Hardly anyone in Canada cares how their soccer team performs, but a huge number do care how their national hockey team performs, and by all all accounts, pretty well. The men's team won 3 Olympic Gold Medals in the last 5 Winter Olympics.

By comparison, huge numbers of English fans care for their football team, but unlike Canada's hockey team, the English are consistent losers since 1966.

But I will root for the UK against Uruguay, honest. I have soft heart for teams that lose too much and deserve another chance.

Looking at those odds, I'd put a couple of bucks on the Dutch.

They don't trust the Dutch - yet. Just one uber game but very very impressive no doubt. Maybe maybe it's their turn this time :-)
