Jumping of the Tai Tam Reservoir bridges

My friends and I will be staying in Hong Kong for a week and saw a couple videos of people jumping of the bridges at Tai Tam. We are adventure seekers and the trails of Hong Kong pretty much made us want to hike as much as we can.

So my question is, is it illegal to jump of the bridges?

Here's one of the videos where people jumped off the bridges.

    Adventue seekers does not equate...morons.

Yes jumping in the reservoirs is illegal - you can jump at many other places, totally legal....so why not do that instead ;-)

Jabronie, Sheung Luk Stream is good for cliff diving. Had lots of fun there - it's quite far out though, so be prepared to spend a full day to get there and back.

Lantau has a great infinity pool tucked away up a beautiful steep valley. Completely legal (and amazing). There are several pools leading up to it which you can jump in. Water levels will be low because the rainy season hasn't kicked in yet. So you need to be extra cautious (doing something stupid, if you're cliff jumping). You don't know the contours of the rocks below.

There are some things insanely large turtles (2ft in diameter?) and fish (4 ft. long?) in Tai Tam reservoir which are probably older than your mother. So if the police don't catch you, they might! Remember, HK is a crowded place and there will probably always be someone to call the police.
