Why does HK rule ? I am curious as to why you think that, compared to very cool cities like Paris, Nice, Rome, Florence, Monaco, St Tropez, I'll even include Tokyo, which is a better city in my opinion.
HK is fun sure, but its none of the above to get the HK rules tag.

Maybe compared to S.Korea in the winter, for I have been there, and can sort of see that HK would be an improvement on a dynamic perspective. I am also not a fan of Canto pop either, or majority of its TV / Film stars, for the exception of Chow Yun Fat, the rest really are awful. It would be great when HK can produce a singer that can actually sing, play instruments to any degree of professionalism. Macau has managed to do it, with their pop duet Soler, best performing pop act in asia in my opinion. They can sing in 7 languages fluent also. Real talent ! who knew ?

    Watch and learn below

I think you have to be a Hello Kitty fan to really enjoy HK music lol, and I am not....

    :)

    i dont understand hard english...

are you asking me that why i typed hong kong rules?

um...because hong kong is really awesome

the feeling of "perfection" nihilism that hong kong film gave...

(especially the masterpice of a great genius director called wong kai wai.

[as tears go by, 1986, andy lau]),

i really love wong kai wai's blue tone and step printing, slow motion.

wong kai wai is a genius. absolutely!!!!!

and backstreet of hong kong, cantonese language that sounds very luxurious(almost korean people think that mandarin sounds more luxurious than cantonese, but i dont feel so, i feel cantonese sounds very luxurious), hong kong nightscape,.....

    well i dont know,

    i just love hong kong...

actually there are so many things to say, but my english is not that good "ar"~

sometime i may think that hk ppl need to have a pride of 1980's hong kong film that stroke the asia...

especially the best noir film called "a better tomorrow",

chow yun fat's marlboro red, double gun, sunglass, big coat were icon of culture in the late 1980's korea.

    what do you think?

whenever i watch 1980's noir hong kong film...

i can understand the reason why former generation of korean was crazy about hong kong film...

p.s, my favourite noir hong kong film is

"Long Arm Of The Law, 1984"

the begin of hong kong noir!! and hidden masterpiece!!

try to watch if you didnt watch that

Cantonese sounds luxurious lol, I always thought Korean sounded very melodic in sound, as does Shanghainese, but not Cantonese.

It's a bit like comparing spoken English to Spoken French, French just has that extra bit of sophistication and a far more indepth cultivation when spoken well.

As to movies in Hong Kong, I am a bit of a fan of John Woo and Manfred Wongs offerings, John for being very visual in his technique and Manfred for adding depth and feeling to his arthouse movies.

As to the rest, it's a bit too hello kitty for my liking, granted generation gap is the main reason for this .

The best movies to come out of Hong kong are the Killer ( 1989) and the Infernal affairs Trilogy, trully kick ass film making, that you never tire of watching.

As to the perfection ideaology, I am sorry but I don't see it at all. I see a lot of short cuts being made and a general acceptance that this is o.k.

I like the Japanese Bushido code of doing things the best that you can, and a society that accepts no less.

HK doesnt socialistically work to a perfection modus operandi. Japan does, to date the only Asian country that does, China may in 50 years, but who knows how attitudes will formulate in the future.

I hear Lau Gar Fei (a.k.a Gordon Liu) plays a mean rythym guitar.

He is the bald guy from all the 36th Chamber of Shaolin films. Lives in Caine Road I believe.

I am not a fan of Cantop in general, so I am not too familiar with Hong Kong stars. But I know the following singers can play guitar.
Lowell Lo, Eman Lam, Paul Wong(member of the band Beyond)
    G.E.M., Aarif Rahman and etc..
