My personal expenses this year so far until yesterday (excluding family expenses, depreciation, interest and taxes)

    Food & dining: $10912.41
    Public transport: $10181.54
Driving (including fuel, tolls, licences, insurances and fines): $4907.19
    Membership fees: $393.33
    Activities (mainly sports competitions): $5267.75
    Mobile phone: $1520
    Broadband (including home phone): $1479.7
    Postage: $11.9
    Domain registration: $159.86
    VPS: $422.75
    Clothes (including shoes): $1838
Office supplies (e.g. compass, maps, ink, pen, lamp, badges): $2271.46
    Books: $93
Software (e.g. paid Android apps): $48
    Printing: $158

Total: $39664.89 (around $3813.93 per month).
However, because I currently live with my family, I give additional $3000 per month for family spending, including public housing rent, electricity, family consumption, etc.

How? Are you sharing the costs with someone? The yearly vehicle licence fee alone is at least $3,929.

Ahhh. Motorcycle. That explains it. Thanks.

PS Those costs are very reasonable. The rental for my car park space for one month is more than your entire driving budget for the year

Therefore I don't plan to buy a private car because parking is a trouble. I got a motorcycle for the purpose of travelling between rural places with poor transport connection (e.g. Tuen Mun to Tsing Yi (West), Hung Shui Kiu to Tai Po, etc.) Under the rare circumstance where I can't use my motorcycle and no good public transport of available, I may try to catch a short-haul taxi to fill in the gap.

However, I haven't saved much from my salary this year despite my above spending because I've done 3 trips on a one-off basis:

An 8-night trip to Lithuania cost me $16869.86, another 7-night trip to Azerbaijan cost me another $12413.06, and a 10-day trip to Beijing cost me further $6349.78, but it is very unlikely for me to go for so many trips in the future, only 1 or maximum 2 per year normally.

and I still need to gain more money (and more physical fitness) for a Fujian trip planned next year. (My physical fitness has deteriorated so much year which rendered my Beijing trip useless)

Nice windsurfing photo by the way. I'm starting the LCSD course next month, really excited!
