Honda has got its innovative design, MOJO back !

Have to say, Honda's really have not been on my radar for quite awhile, as they became a bit, NIPPON CLIPPON in their design language, inside and out, for my liking.

The production close Honda E, I think Honda have absolutely nailed it ! What a beautifully simple non fussy design , that looks so fresh and clean, functional and exactly what I like. ( LOVE THE INTERIOR TOO ) I DONT want or particularly like SUV's or need a large car, and if we are lucky, if they produce a TYPE R version with an increased range, say another 100km, I would be pretty happy with this.. Just what the doctor ordered..

Well done Honda ! and great that they have designed a desirable car, not an eco statement, or some futuristic shamozzel. They finally get it!

It's a very exciting time from about this year, when this Honda E goes into production later in 2019 and VW's new range of electric cars, Kombi and their ID Buzz cargo delivery van by 2022. Very Very cool ! looks like my petrol car is going to be worthless very shortly haha which I dont mind.

Most of us will be driving electric cars by around 2030 and thinking to ourselves why we mucked around with overly complex ( mechanically ) ICE cars for as long as we did !... Really looking forward to the next few years. it's going to be a LOT more fun thanks to REAR wheel DRIVE

I guess like porn, beauty and aesthetics are in the eyes of the beerholder.

For me they look like they've been influenced by the pillsbury doughboy. Distinctive for sure, but not something I'd be keen on.

As soon as I saw the Honda it reminded me of the V Golf and when I clicked the video link the 2nd comment I see posted by someone else is

I love the cabin design of the Honda E, the car width multi function displays look great, as I never liked Teslas center dash mounted tablet display, which I think has dated very badly, great cars in other ways just the cabin layout just didnt do it for me. SO its great that a mainstream car maker like Honda is going to have a bloody good crack at its foray into the EV car market.

And yes, the Honda E does look la bit like, had a 1st generation VW Golf and a 1st generation Honda Civic had sex and voila ! the E Golf. ha ha now that you mention it! I reckon it would look alright in black too, which would hide the charging hatch cover on the bonnet, the dark glazed roof and the black band which houses the headlights on the front nose.

I think it looks cool too and think it would be a hoot to drive, especially in Type R form. Torquealicious, sling shot acceleration and very tenacious low centre of gravity handling

That's exactly what I was thinking. With the round lights the front is like a Golf MK2 and the tail is just like the MK7.

    This looks like a toy!

I do like the interior though.

I can't quote deleteduser's post but the point about parking in the UK is very valid. Rows of large but narrow Victorian housing which were not designed with cars in mind make charging at home impossible for many. Just parking near your house is almost impossible at times.

What is the purpose of the gearbox tunnel cover? Just a hangover from 'Luxury' feeling of Panhard gearbox layout that is used in ICE cars

It should look like this inside

They can't even resurface the roads to get rid of potholes so I am not sure who is going to do this. To make this available for all cars is a massive investment that will require years.
