boss, can you add Henry Tang as an option to the poll? thanks
i suppose there are a few other possibilities, albeit a bit of a long shot:
Jasper Tsang, Regina Ip, a few former Commissioners of Police (eg Donald Tsang's brother)..
John Tsang is, I think, not a possibility, since he is openly defiant of his former boss CY Leung.

Voted none of the above because we're never sure which thug they might be secretly nurturing (away from the public eye).
People bring up the issue of succession - how does it work if Carrie Lam resigns or is removed.
The six month timeline does work for a newly (s)elected CE.

Since the basic law matters....
https://www.basiclaw.gov.hk/en/mater..._e.pdf?noembed
Paragraph 2, Article 53 of the Basic Law stipulates, "In the event that the office of Chief Executive becomes vacant, a new Chief Executive shall be selected within six months in accordance with the provisions of Article 45 of this Law."
I really don't know how credible this story is. BUT, there is always a possibility that Beijing may intentionally leak certain news to gauge the reaction of the HK public to a potential replacement of Lam.
They have done this sort of intentionally leaking before, but as to this particular case, while the FT is a good and reputable paper, I really don't know how accurate it is. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
But please, not Regina Ip, broomhead should be the last choice.
Genius Ho if they have by some miracle actually managed to "stabilise" things, Henry Tang if they haven't.
