Indeed, the actions and omissions of the government have brought only good to Hong Kong and the people living in it. The words and actions of the people who disagree with “diverse opinions” have damaged Hong Kong. Criticism and dissent are the root of the problem, death marches are the only solution and the ungrateful populace should be cheering.

Did we just time warp back to 1984? Or is this because the police's surveillance is not up to par?

"We urge these Hong Kong politicians, who wantonly smear our city's reputation, to treasure Hong Kong's freedom. The entire society should say no to violence and persuade protesters to express their views in a peaceful manner, to prevent peaceful protests from mutating to violent confrontations, and to stop depriving people with different opinions the freedom to live a normal life, to voice their discontent against violence and to take photos of rioters' destructive acts.

Instead of attacking the right to privacy, what about they deal with Orwellian memory holes and document destruction instead..

You are most welcome. That’s really chilling and ridiculous, but I suppose we have to comply with the law (in general) while we can and must.

Real objective suggested. Clearly still not enough casualties for propaganda efforts.

Anyone has the right to take photos in public. But it is just weird, completely weird for a govt press release to ask people do to this. So out of character for the ISD to randomly throw this call into what is already a weird press release asking politicians to refrain from politicking.

They have the right, and protesters should not overreact, but this is clearly provocative and runs counter even to the propaganda narrative of keeping people safe.

There have been a few recently that have missed the mark in tone and style. I could spend the time and find out which department drafted the release but I think the answer is not one I want to.....
