My mainland colleagues have purchased protective goggles to wear when they head back to home later this week. I don't know if it's safer to be wearing goggles and masks in China with the risk of catching the virus or in HK with the risk of being arrested by the popo......

Beijing is unwilling to quarantine Wuhan, that means the infection will spread further, likely to all corners of the country, especially given the Lunar New Year holidays. This means HK will get cases. Yet we do not hear anything at all about travel alert from the government. This is is what we get when we have a government subjected to the political whims of the CCP which places the health of it's own people below that of the party interest.

Actually to be fair, they have started implementing decisive measures. Problem is in a top-down system, reactive rather than preventive decision-making is exacerbated.

No worries, Xi Jinping’s leadership at the core to the rescue! (and yes, we really only did get decisive measures after his say so, although maybe having to wait for it was...not so good?)

Went this morning to a Mannings store. The supply of surgical masks is nearly running out and a notice is displayed that says "only three boxes of mask allowed per customer".

Our another demand to Carrie should be freedom of purchasing the quantity of masks we need and want. Not one less.
