Quarantine / Isolation penalties in Canada.
No f'ing around ...
Singapore rise in cases continues... largely sparked by people returning from the US / UK / Europe as well as a recent cluster of 18 cases involving staff and even the principal at a kindergarten (schools there still haven't closed....)

Rottnest Island, charming name. I'm sure it has outstanding facilities though...
I remember this from early Feb. I do wonder if it ever got anywhere- was the story ever followed up?Original Post Deleted

Rottnest is one of our biggest tourist attractions! Yes the Quokka's. They started clearing it of tourists a week ago in case it needed to be used as a quarantine centre for Western Australians. Now there are 3 cruise ships stuck off the coast of Perth requesting assistance and we are executing the Rottnest plan now. The ships have been told to keep circling until Monday while they do some urgent upgrades on the island.Original Post Deleted
One ship is fully fuelled, full of German, Italian, French passengers. It left Perth a few days ago but then turned around and headed back. Now we are telling them to f*ck off back to its home port but its not listening. The state government have called in the commonwealth requesting them to tell it to f*ck off. Nobody really knows why it keeps circling around. Now its asked to refuel again a second time, maybe to take on more fuel so it can get all the way to Europe rather than it's initial plan of Dubai.
The other two I think they are planning to put on Rottnest. At least the Australian's and Kiwi's. Then the kiwi's should organise a plane for their citizens back to NZ. The Aussies will have to stay on Rottnest.
Those not Aussie or NZ apparently have to stay on the ships for now, until they can secure a flight out of Australia and then will be escorted to the airport. I'm not sure how that's going to work when there are no flights at the moment. Seems will be a repeat of the same debacle that was in Japan.
Nah, and they've about-turned on the booze, seems it was problematic. It's better for people to be drunk and violent, than for the violent drunks to not have alcohol and suffer withdrawal.
https://www.thelocal.fr/20200324/fre...uring-lockdownHowever 24 hours later - and following worldwide media attention and much dismay on social media - the préfecture announced that it was temporarily halting the ban in order to consult more widely, particularly with addiction specialists about the possible side effects of a ban.
Well that's embarassing! China was also calling this a donation when in fact Czech paid for them.Original Post Deleted
