For a few weeks after yes. No to the rest. Although we live in an area with a lot of pilots and cabin crew.

Decreased lung capacity is supposed to result from the virus. Duration seems to be longer though. IMO seek the test. Seems plausible he had a mild case. Fortunately, he overcame it.

Central Health is offering a test, but I don't know which kind. They have been sending emails advertising it for a while now. Might be worth giving them a call, whatever they have is probably more conclusive than a home test.

If you get a positive result, how are you able discern whether it is a true positive or a false positive?

The following covers HIV testing, but some of the information is also relevant to virus testing in general:

    Rapid HIV testing

    . . .
A positive reaction on a rapid test requires an additional blood test to confirm the results.

You have to ask them if this is a screening test only, and will they be able to give you a confirmation test as well.

OT&P is also offering antibodies test and PCR test (saliva). The antibodies test is a blood test and it can tell you if you've been exposed to the virus. This is the same as seeing if you have immunity for it. Spoke with Dr Joyce Lai at OTP clinic and found her helpful 2824-9112

I've ordered the home kit. If we get a positive result, we will probably go and get it confirmed at one of the suggestions above to be sure. Then we can act accordingly.

Again this is mainly to see if you are infected. I'm only interested in antibodies.

The article does mention antibody tests. Just go to a private hospital. Better than those home kits. Especially if governments warn against their use.
