    Covid-19: 04/07 (Tue) - Global News

Starting with this chart from the NYT stats page:

I think it shows that there has been a "slight" slow down in the spread of the virus. Not sure how deceptive this is, but gives us a moment or two of optimism.

    Quarantine, with American characteristics.

People out enjoying Central Park in Manhattan, despite New York City posting numbers worse than Wuhan itself. Yeah, this is gonna work out great!

(No, not optimistic that US numbers are flattening out any time soon...I am guessing that less testing is performed on weekends, in my experience, nothing medical happens on the weekends in the US and old habits die hard. Despite the NY Times numbers above...)

FAUCI: It's somewhere between 25 and 50%. And trust me; that is a estimate. I don't have any scientific data yet to say that. You know...
No scientific data says Fauci in an out of context soundbite on a podcast where he wasn't present, the headline takes a range upper limit and turns it into an absolute, no mention of the pre-symptomatic versus true asymptomatic distinction. Very poor reporting from NPR.

Tam and Health Canada reversal on masks:

Tam said new research on patients aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship — as many as 712 people who were aboard the vessel contracted the virus — and a recently published report out of Singapore were behind the policy change.

"We are very rapidly trying to integrate that later science," she said of the new studies that suggest people who have yet to develop symptoms can still have high viral loads that can be transmitted.

Not sure how real this is... But pays to follow the money.

If hydroxychloroquine becomes an accepted treatment, several pharmaceutical companies stand to profit, including shareholders and senior executives with connections to the president. Mr. Trump himself has a small personal financial interest in Sanofi, the French drugmaker that makes Plaquenil, the brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine.

Peru only has 2,561 cases apparently, but five people returned from Peru cases 907,908,909,910, 911 but two had symptoms on 23 and 27 March, I am guessing it did take that long to travel back to HK, so they were ill ___before___ they arrived back yesterday, seems bizarre that airlines are allowing sick passengers to travel

Has anyone considered that the whole Covid19 situation is quite suspicious? It seems to be a pretty big response to what is happening. I found this interview really interesting:
