No Quarantine in the UK for arrivals from HK

Hong Kong is on the list so we are getting in.

Afaik it’s for arrivals to England, not the U.K.

I think the article you hyperlinked says the same

But there's still HK quarantine on return, right?

Yes there is a HK quarantine for now. It is not a reciprocal arrangement.

Until Sept 18. However, recently the Regal Hotel was full and arrivals have been told to go straight home to quarantine.

the previous discussion we had about no quarantine for returnees from Taiwan starting July 8th, now I am not so sure about it. Apart from the SCMP article, I could not find info on immi nor on airport’s website

Guess I shouldn't have cancelled my August trip to UK after all.

It was never being enforced or followed by many anyway!

its the people already there need quarantining not those coming in!

Well it all depends on your motivation for doing so.

I'm really looking forward to going back. Yes the UK has considerable problems and HK has many attractions/positivesbut...

I have a nice house in a nice area so no security worries.
I miss my kids, friends, other family
So many of my hobbies/interests are not easy to do here - cars, performing opportunities as a ameteur musician, cycling to mention a few.
Much more variety and opportunities in theatre, art culture....

    I could go on.
