Does anyone want to go to Macau...by any chance?
We used to go to Macau for big name rock concerts headlining some of the big hotels ie at The Venetian, using our Marriott platinum status to hang out for a weekend.
We've still got a million points, which we'll make use of during this Christmas school holidays, for a bit of Gold coast theme park fun with the kids.
We used to like going to Beijing twice a year, when we resided in Hong Kong, but these days the way things are, we have no plans to visit Mainland China in the indefinite future.
There are still a lot of restrictions on foreigners' visas, but some of my local friends are planning trips to Tibet and Yunnan
Tibet and Yunnan sound very exotic to me, but the quarantine free travel scheme in December will still not include these two places, I think they are expecting the scheme to be extended to all provinces next year.
I really want to go, but it should be very difficult to apply for a visa with a non-HKSAR passport (although my wife is a holder of an HKSAR passport)
In the early days of Macau opening up its casino market to major global casino operators, I wasn't all that interested in Macau. I've never had any desire for casino gambling. But that was essentially all that Macau offered back then. Not much else.
In recent years though, Macau had moved to incorporate more variety in what they offered to visitors. They are following the Las Vegas model in creating more broadway-styled musical, magic and circus shows. That made me interested now in going to Macau, for the shows.
If you have Chinese nationality and hold an HRP then you may enter China, regardless of whether you have to quarantine or not. Obviously if you went today you'd have to quarantine for 14+7 days, and once the quarantine-free program starts then you can go quarantine-free if you satisfy the program rules.
As a Chinese national there are no requirements to take any vaccines, Pfizer or Sinovac.
