    TC Chaba - T8 @ 6pm-ish...

Looks like the XI Shield has been lowered..

According to the present forecast track, Chaba will be closest to Hong Kong tonight and tomorrow morning, skirting about 300 kilometres to the southwest of the territory. Chaba is expected to further intensify and its associated gales will edge closer to the Pearl River Estuary later today. Local wind will strengthen further. The Observatory will consider issuing the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal between 6 and 9 p.m.

I’m surprised we’ve not had our usual is this really a T8 debate. For what it’s worth it’s pretty windy on the Sai Kung waterfront with light drizzle carried by the wind and choppy waters. I’d have it stronger than a UK breezy November day. Enough to make you wary of falling branches. Killed the humidity almost completely for the time being.

looking at the latest update the islands have pretty heavy winds. Actually a justifiable T8 methinks
