Not in english link - summary:

The price of Solana falls and Binance is taking corrective measures: temporarily suspending deposits of Tether (USDT) andUSD Coin (USDC) on the Solana blockchain..

The reasons are intuitive. Unlike other blockchains, Solana's wasclosely tied to FTX.

Following this, Binance joined the list of major cryptocurrency exchanges that suspended support for transactions on Solana. In addition to Crypto.com, OKX and Bybit also announced the suspension of deposits in USDC and USDT.
Banks will only reject taking in deposits when $20 isn't $20..

Here's a good one ... investments by FTX in various VC firms ...

On a side note .. been following news reporting on semafor for a few weeks - seems to be a decent new organisation started by an ex NYT and ex Bloomberg media guys... with a minor investment from FTX...

Among the overlapping holdings are a $1.15 billion stake in Genesis Digital Assets, a crypto miner, and a $200 million investment in Sequoia, the venture-capital firm that wrote down its own stake in FTX to zero last week.

The Alameda document also lists a $45 million investment in Anthony Scaramucci’s SkyBridge Capital. FTX acquired a 30% stake in SkyBridge in September, but the spreadsheet suggests it might have transferred the position to Alameda as it sought to ringfence any valuable assets that investors might lend against.

And they're probably in that serviced apartment place which has allegedly housed some well known people who have been worried about being extradited..

The FTX employees who left the Bahamas moved out of the Albany Resort, the gated community where they lived, people familiar with the matter said. Many still have housing in Hong Kong, where FTX had its headquarters until 2021, since the company covered most of their living expenses at their Bahamas resort.

Generally VC compute their IRR after cashing out on the investment, or at least when their investment are listed for them to cash out. I would guess its on a portfolio basis ? you only need to get 3 to 5% of your investments right and your IRR should be nice...

That's not very true. Try depositing zimbawe dollar or whatever currency in HSBC and see if they accept...
