- Merry Christmas and thanks to medical workers and everyone else.
- Average 15,691 cases, 12% increase over last week. In the past two weeks, the average daily cases has been 15-14K. Imported cases 853 cases on an average, an increase of 18% over the last week. Imported cases are a small fraction of overall cases.
- High level of cases in residential care homes. Schools cases have increased over 30% ?? on a weekly basis.
- New Omicron cases are taking over as predominant cases.
- Slow decline in "R" value.
- 4100+ in hospital due to Covid. Admissions increasing from care homes. Non-Covid admissions are also higher than normal. Occupancy is @ 113%. Transferring stable paitents to private sector. To ensure patients are not left waiting outside the hospitals.
Changes to restrictions - 22nd of December (Thu)
- Lift bars and scheduled premises capacity limits to be lifted.
- Banquet halls - capacity limits lifted.
- RAT tests not required for bars and pubs, local tours and few other venues / activities. School children need to do RATs at the moment.
- Food & drinks allowed in places like Mahjong parlours, outdoor sporting areas etc.

WTF is wrong with some of these fucking reporters .... rando from RTHK suggesting that the relaxation is sending a wrong message at this time.
Open air with more space is clearly more deadly. The virus may be spread to unknowing bystanders and also sucked into AC ventilation systems resulting in even more bystanders catching the virus. Also, outdoor air is nice and fresh, which keeps the virus live longer.
I think I can land a consultant job under DOH.

Now - very high and increasing cases (relatively), removing restrictions..
