@IndianInHK : Best bets are to get the Consulate to attest the docs for you.

How do you certify the copies yourself, just by signing a written declaration you yourself drafted that the docs are true copies?

How much does a notary public generally charge by notarising a photocopy of an original copy in HK?

The last time I needed one officially done at the U.S. Consulate, the cost was US$50 per signature.

Just to let you know I went to the Home Affairs Department and went through the declaration route and certified the copies myself (but declared this to the Commissioner for Oaths). Sent everything to lawyers in UK and everything was accepted. So be sure to use this service in the future if you need certified true copies of documents (its free and takes less than 15 mins).
did you write on and sign the photocopy to say it was a true copy?
