thanks.. yeah i agree, the only value they bring is their restaurant information.
I use openrice for local cuisine (as someone else mentioned sometimes their tastes are a bit weird for other cuisines to take them for face value), on the flip slide I only use Yelp for non local cuisines. Although not as popular anymore I use Foursquare for the most part - and I have yet to be steered wrong. You can follow some bloggers on Instagram as well - just find one that shares the same tastes as you.
